Other Details: Macleay River Agricultural Association silver first prize medal awarded around 1880 to W. Kerrigan for a Rat Terrier dog named "Nap". Agricultural associations such as this provided important support to local farmers by encouraging the improvement of skills and adoption of new practices and equipment through regular shows and competitions. The Macleay River district is located 428km north of Sydney. Agricultural activities since settlement have included beef, dairying, timber, maize, potatoes, bananas, fishing, prawning, oysters, deer and avocadoes.

A silver prize medal (22 mm diameter) with loop attached to edge at top. It features a horse, standing facing left, with the forepart of a bull to left, a hay-stack to right and a bunch of grapes above together with details odf the issuing association and details of the winner on the reverse
