The Saunders-Roe "Cutty Sark" piloted by Capt.George Matthews landed on Lake Bullen Merri (not Gnotuk) for the South Beach Carnival on Saturday,23rd February 1935 for joy flights around the lake. Gnotuk is much smaller and lower down inside the volcanic crater
