I have a 1930's photo of my mother and 3 young women friends posing for photo of themselves sitting along a rail in front of a rounded paddle wheel with name WEEROONA. The photo is in good condition and I guess where they travelled to was Sorento? I have enjoyed watching archiveal movie clip of the 1920's trip on another site. The internet has solved the mystery of 'Where were they off to'. there is two more photos in my collection also of mum and one other lady friend on the rocks in swimsuits near breaking waves inspecting the aquatic water rock growths.What a wonderful time they had...

Hi Arlene, some other images of the Weeroona can be found at Picture Australia. For further information on the ship itself Queenscliffe Maritime Museum is a good place to start.

Most of what at first glance appears to be a dark cloud is very likely smoke from the funnel of the steamer.
