james chung leong was my grandfather.anyone with any information about his life in ballarat would be appreciated.maybe someone has some stories they would like to share he married my grandmother olive pearl bainbrigge and had two children before eventually returning to hongkong.so many missing peices to his life.his story is quite fasinating along with his herbal cures and his life.his life is quite a mystery to our family.he has featured in a book called life after gold.hope this message sparks a memory of a story told by some one somewhere.

Hi Sharon, thanks for your interesting post. Have you seen the references to James Chung Leong on the Chinese-Australian Historical Images in Australia website? Their are images of your grandfather as well as reference to an article by Morag Loh about Chinese herbalists in Victoria. A web search under his name also comes up with a few references. Hopefully this helps you and others out there have further information too!
