I am the Secretary of the Edenhope and District Historical Society. Goroke is a small town located about 50klms north of Edenhope. The name of the school ( and area ) is spelt KARNAK and Carnak as spelt above.
I have contact with descendants of the Darby family who lived in the Lake Karnak from 1878 to 1898. They brought this photo to my attention. I beleive some of the Darby children may be in this phooto. Mr Gordon Mitchell lives at Karnak today and his ancestors lived in that area for many generations. He helped write a book about the Centennary of Education at the Lake Karnak School and copies are probably eld at the State Library of Victoria.

Hello, I am researching John D'Arcy Forrest (1840-1902) who is buried in the Karnark cemetery and wonder if you have any information about him or his family please?
