I have a copy of the same photo and it is Angus SHAW (my GG Uncle) on horseback not Angus Shann.
Written on the back of my copy is 'Old MacIntyres Cottage on Mitchell River
Milton Park about 1900 Angus Shaw on horse.
Mac was with Kitchener at Khartoum & Sudan War & with Lord Roberts in Boer War Scottish Regiment'.
I also have a portrait of Mac - taken by Ward Bros at Bairnsdale.

I think you will also find it is Glenaladale on the Mitchell River, not Glen Allerdale.
