Museum Victoria Comment
Hi Elizabeth. I think you may be referring to Auburn Station/Auburn Vale Station in the Burnett River region. Museum Victoria specialises in Victorian History so it may be better for you to contact a Queensland family history society in that area or the Queensland State Library. SLQ insitution seem to have a number of images of a station of this name in the Taroom district. Simply go to http://pictureaustralia.org to search for these. If you are doing Aboriginal Family History research you should try the website http://www.aiatsis.gov.au/fhu/start.html which gives good advice on doing Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander family history research. I'm not sure if the station is still in existence but if it is, perhaps they may be able to help you with your research. We've also found a record of Auburn Station in a cultural study of the area around the Burnett River region that you may be interested in.
