- Description Of Content:
- A group of people inspecting the wreckage of RAAF biplane A5-4 which crashed on Mt Buninyong, on 12 Dec 1939. There appears to be a heavy fog.
The aircraft has landed facing down a steep slope with the right (port) side wing shattered against to tree trunks.
The aircraft was a Westland Wapiti Mk.IA delivered to the Royal Australian Airforce on 29 March 1929. The airframe was later recovered and became Instructional Airframe No.3 28 Oct 1940. - Acquisition Information:
