Phoebe Neal was the fifth child of Thomas Neal & Mary Knowles. She was baptised on the 5th March 1835 at Stody, Norfolk England. She married an Abel Jones on the 21st April 1851 at Geelong Victoria. She died in 1914 at H'ville, Victoria.

Abel Jones was born circa 1825 in Denbigh, Wales. He was the son of Robert Jones and Elizabeth (?). Abel was the younger brother of Margaret Jones. Margaret married David Parry and had a son, Robert Henry Parry, who later married Phoebe’s sister Jane.
