The gentleman on the right is my grandfather on a family visit to Tassie from the UK where he was senior draughtsman for Westinghouse Brake and Saxby Signal Co. Based in their office in Kings Cross, London, I understand he was resposonsible for the "Trip Cock" apparatus still employed as a fail-safe device on many suburban railways today, most notably on the London Underground, but also on the Metro in Melbourne.
