I bought a book called The Rock of Light by E L Harvey and in it is an inscription from V Harris (Teacher) to Hedley Growcott (student)presenting the book to him for regular attendance. It is dated December 31st 1898. Perhaps one of these people is indeed V Harris? Interesting!

My great, great grandfather, Robert Carroll, is the dark-skinned man seated in the front row. He came from Jamaica to Melbourne in 1853. He was a much loved and respected Sunday School teacher with this church for over fifty years. Does anyone have any information about him? If so, please contact me on sammi1957@hotmail.com
