the man with his arms foldered i belive is a well know identity of ballarat at the time and mine owner Morgan Lee.he is my great great grandfather.his wife's name was eliza,i also belive she is the lady (you can only see her head) between morgan lee and the duke.i do have other old photos.

I,m have started the looking family tree that my sister eileen has been compiling.discovered morgan lee and his wife these are my families great great ect grand parents.my mothers mother eileen murphy (nee lee) is my grandma who lived @ 22 baker or barker st near melbourne & close to her brother leo & wife lyle lee...be interester to discover more.

My Daughter (Cindy Kennedy, and I are researching our family history. I have found quite a lot of informaton on morgan by googling The United Extended Band of Hope Mine, also found a lot on relatives through trove - the digitalised newspaper archive.

I have found another picture held by the Ballarat Historical society, giving the names of the gentlemen in the picture. It says that the man with the folded arms is actually Lord Newry. Unfortunately Morgan Lee does not get a mention on the back of the photograph...

Morgan Lee is my great-great grandfather, his son Thomas Dunstan is my great-grandfather and his son Edward James is my grand father. Morgan Lee has quite a few descendants living by now.

Great to see so many relatives here. Morgan Lee and his second wife Eliza, is my great grandfather(Thomas Dunstan Jr. Lee) grandfather. I would love to hear more about our family. Greetings from Sweden.
