Other Details: With group including First World War medal, awarded to Private J. Ferres. Private Joseph Ferres of the 11th Battalion. He enlisted on 7/8/1914 and served until 13/2/1917. His regimental number was 36. Ferres served in Gallipoli, and was also awarded a medal to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ANZAC Gallipoli landings in 1967.

A nickel-silver medal with ribbon. The obverse features a crowned head of King Geirge VI facing left with the artist's initials PM in the field below the neck; around, GEORGIVS VI G: BR: OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP:
The reverse has the Australian Coat of Arms; around above, THE AUSTRALIA SERVICE MEDAL; below, 1939 - 1945.
The edge is impressed in capitals: V146990 J. FERRES.
