Other Details: This is a reverse die trial for the Melbourne Olympic Prize medals. It depicts a victorious athlete being carried left to the left on shoulders of joyous crowd, holds branch in left hand and waves with right. It was commissioned by the Melbourne Olympic Committee, which was responsible for organising the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, including construction of stadiums, athletes' accommodation, press coverage and medal production. - Acquisition Information:
