- Image taken by A.J. Campbell on a friends and family Christmas camping trip to Ferntree Gully in 1905. The image is part of a Photograph album containing 181 black and white and sepia toned photographs taken by A.J. Campbell, ornithologist, during field trips to various parts of Australia. One of two albums covering these trips [see also HT 15824].

- Three water-filters are suspended from a branch attached to a couple of trees. One man leans against a tree drinking from a mug while another, wearing a white apron and presumably the cook, appears to be filling a tin or, possibly, a water bag.
