Reg. No: HT 4764
- Summary:
- Original Anemometer observations from Melbourne Observatory, of 9:44am 31 December 1911 to 9:43am 1 January 1912. Anemographs measure wind speed and velocity. These measurements were, and remain, vital to navigation. Meteorological Observations were a key responsibility of the Melbourne Observatory before the Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology started operations in 1908.
- Description:
- A single leaf paper, printed one side, folded in half. It features a printed grid for recording direction of wind, time of day, and velocity in miles per hour. Marked in pencil for Direction, and red ink for Velocity. Paper has water and insect damage around edges.
