Other Details: A gold-plated medal issued by the Shire of Winchelsea to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. The Shire of Winchelsea, on the Barwon River south-west of Melbourne, between Geelong and Colac, was proclaimed on 27 May 1864. On 9 March 1994 part of Shire of Winchelsea, the Shire of Barrabool and City of Greater Geelong united to form the Surf Coast Shire Council.
