Other Details: A gold-plated medal issued by the Shire of Kerang to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. It features two crossed shields below Arms with lion and kangaroo supporters, the left shield contains depictions of grape vines and wheat-sheaf; the right depicts a milkmaid and cow, and the sesquicentenary logo. The Shire of Kerang, on the Lodden river near the northern Victorian border, was constituted in 1871. A rural area, it benefited from newly developed irrigation techniques, although by the middle twentieth century was struggling to cope with salination problems. On 20 January 1995 most of the Shire of Kerang joined the new Gannawarra Shire Council.

Between the base of the shields is a badly formed Southern Cross. The motto on the ribbon under the Arms reads, UNO ANIMO VINCEMUS
