Other Details: Many Victorian councils issued medals to commemorate the sesquicentenary of the foundation of Victoria in 1984-5. This gold-plated medal was issued by the City of Hamilton to commemorate the sesquicentenary. The medal features two crossed shields below Arms with lion and unicorn supporters, the left shield contains depictions of cow and wheat-sheaf with plough; the right depicts grapes and sheep , and the sesquicentenary logo. Hamilton, in Victoria's western district, was settled in the 1840s and 1850s, and became a relatively successful rural economy. Hamilton was proclaimed a town in 1928 and a city in 1949.

A gold-plated medal issued by the Shire of Hamilton to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. It features two crossed shields below Arms with lion and unicorn supporters, the left shield contains depictions of cow and wheat-sheaf with plough; the right depicts grapes and sheep , and the sesquicentenary logo.
