Colt 1873 Single Action Army (SAA) or Peacemaker centrefire revolver, third generation, cal. .44-40 in., rifled round barrel 190 mm (7 1/2 in) long with R.H.side mounted ejector.

Made by Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co, Hartford, Connecticut, serial number 1640WC, 1983.

This item is one part of a two-piece Winchester-Colt commemorative match set produced by Colt and Winchester of which only 4440 were produced in 1983.
Description:
Six chambered cylinder unfluted, blade front sight, loading gate on R.H.side. Knurling on hammer is fine and unframed, firing pin as been removed. Barrel address is a Hartford address. Three-line patent stamping on L.H.side of frame. Excellent factory blue finish with profuse gold over-lay of Colt's Hartford factory on barrel R.H.side surmounted by foliate scrolls, and 'COLT' in an oval frame and surmounted on foliate scrolls on barrel L.H.side. The cylinder carries the gold initials 'WC' for Winchester-Colt in an oval frame and on the opposing side Colt's rampant horse logo framed in similar fashion. The frame has strong case-hardening colours. The backstrap carries the gold inlaid signature of Colonel Colt.
