Source: Museum Victoria
The Military Memorabilia Collection comprises over 3500 objects including military uniforms, photographs and albums, trench art, war diaries and letters, medals and certificates, postcards, and souvenirs acquired during active service.
The focus of the Military Memorabilia Collection is upon Victorian permanent and volunteer colonial forces; Victorian men and women who served in armed conflicts, and home-front responses during times of war. The collection includes material from most of the major conflicts of the 20th century, including the ‘Boer’ War, World War I and World War II. It also has a significant collection of uniforms and personal accoutrement from the colonial period.
