Question: How long would it us take to travel around the area of the universe we can see from Earth?
Answer: We think the furthest part of the universe we can see from earth is 13 billion light years away (that’s the distance light would travel in 13 billion years). If you could travel around it in a super spaceship at the speed of light - 300,000 kilometres per second, the fastest speed known – then it would take 26 billion years for a round trip. BUT the universe may not be a closed system . If it is an open system, as you travel you might see more that we can’t see from Earth and so your journey could potentially never end!
