Identification
The Three-lined Skink, Bassiana duperreyi, can be recognised by its relatively slim build and prominent vertebral and shoulder stripes. It has a snout vent length of up to 60 mm.

Distribution and habitat
The Three-lined Skink is widely distributed throughout Victoria, excluding east Gippsland, the north central region, and the semi arid areas of the north west. It is normally found in association with grassy habitats.
Biology
A semi-arboreal species, the Three-lined Skink is active by day and feeds on invertebrates. Although not regarded as a communal nesting species, it has been suggested that up to three females may nest together as the clutch size varies from 4-15 eggs, with females averaging around 5 eggs per clutch.
