To think about:

  1. Why were soldiers playing these games on board transport ships?
  2. Are these activities stereotypically Australian, or were they organised for some particular reason? Is there any way we could determine how common these types of activities were on troopships? Find out in this additional piece of evidence.
  3. Why do you think these photographs were taken? Are they official photographs or private photographs? How would they have been used at home?
