Made from a boar's tusk, tied with a suspension cord composed of shell beads strung on vau, a string made from the bark of Hibiscus tileaceus. Tusks like this were made by removing the opposing tusk on a domestic boar so that the remaining one continued to grow in a circular fashion. In use, the ornament was worn as a chest pendant, fastened close to the throat. They are worn mainly by those of chiefly rank.
