Litoria raniformis

A widely distributed species found from south-eastern South Australia, the Riverina, Victoria and Tasmania.

This species has decreased in numbers over the last decade or so, and is a good example of global declining frog numbers.

Prefers still, open permanent water sites. Has a loud gutteral call, is a voracious feeder, and is known to be cannabalistic.

This species exudes a toxic secretion through the skin. Length up to 8 cm.
