Persoonia chamaepeuce

This prostrate undershrub grows to 30 cm high and produces yellow tubular flowers in the summer.

This plant has ancient Gondwanan origins, with about 90 species of Persoonia occurring in Australia.

For the Dwarf Geebung to produce fruits and seeds, the Australian native bee Leioproctus (Cladocerapis) must carry pollen from flower to flower.

The bee has the body length required to reach the nectaries at the end of the geebung's tubular flower and to collect pollen. This indicates a close evolutionary relationship.
