Camping on the Murray with nan and pop
Holly Charles Ireland Age 9
Yeramun Homework Centre Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-Operative, Geelong

The painting depicts a valuable time with my grandparents (and others) spent along the Murray in my grandparents' country. In our community, the kids are taught to respect their grandparents, and that's why the painting is important to me.

I live with my mum, dad and my little brother in Portarlington. I like living in Portarlington because it's a nice quiet beach side town. Portarlington is about half an hour from Geelong. My brother and I go to Kardinia International College in Geelong. My mum and dad both work in Geelong - mum owns a cake shop and dad is a cookery teacher. My hobbies are: going to the beach, hanging out with friends, karate, music, drama, bike-riding, writing - english, poetry, etc.
