The magnificent Long Room is located on the first floor. With Ionic columns, high ceilings and hand laid tessellated tiles, this enormous space was the thriving centre of customs and trade activity in Victoria for more than a century. The Long Room also features a large exhibition installation of a replica ship. The majestic palazzo-style Long Room resounds with the opulence of 1870s Melbourne.
