Ana Vaz was born in Brasília, Brazil in 1986. She studied cinema and philosophy in Australia at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, where she later taught in the department of Philosophy and Communications. Her first short film Sacris Pulso (2007) screened at The Melbourne International Film Festival, Semana Del Cinéma Expérimental du Madrid and National Festival of Experimental Cinema in Baja Califórnia in Mexico. Ana has also directed Teresa (2009) and work produced for the Talking Difference Fellowship which is available here. Presently, Ana is engaged in an artist’s residency at Le Fresnoy, the National Studio of Contemporary Arts in France.
