Museum staff-led programs or shows have an additional fee per student, clearly outlined in the individual programs information. All costs are GST inclusive.

If the total cost for your group is only the education service fee, please pay on the day of visit by cheque, cash or credit card. For bookings that include additional program fees, a Tax Invoice will be issued to you for the total amount including the education service fee.

Arrival

Please arrive 15 mins prior to your booked time at the Schools Entry in Market Street. Non-school groups such as Tertiary, Adult Education and Holiday-program groups are to arrive at the main entrance in Flinders Street. Museum staff will assist you on arrival for processing and payment of your group.

The Immigration Museum is open 10am – 5pm daily (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day). See Visiting for information on how to get to the museum.

There is wheelchair access available via the Main Entrance and there is a lift to upper levels of the building.

Our floor staff are qualified in first aid and available to assist in case of an emergency.

Coaches and mini-buses may off-load students at the designated zone on Market Street, near the museum banners. There are no bus-parking facilities available onsite.

Student lunches and baggage

As there is limited storage space available, we request that students do not bring their school bags into the museum. Lunches and drinks can be stored in tubs.

In good weather the museum’s courtyard can be used as a lunch area. We ask teachers to have an alternative lunch venue planned for bad weather, as there are no under cover areas available.
