The Architecturally designed Atrium is a glass conservatory that was built onto the back of Old Customs House during the 1998 refurbishment. On one side of the Atrium, the doors open onto the Museum’s outdoor courtyard and Tribute garden, with the Museum side connecting to the Old Customs House original bluestone vaults, unique in that they are above ground, due to the proximity of the building to the river.
This contemporary space leaves behind the busy CBD, and invites guests into an alfresco-feel dining experience. It is perfect for intimate dinners on one long table that runs down the centre of the space, cocktail parties, wedding ceremonies or filming and photography.
