Come and join in with an Irish fling this summer at the Immigration Museum.

Join us for a special festival for children aged 3 to 12 and their families, packed with performances and workshops by the Lake School of Celtic Music Song & Dance, Christine Ayres School of Dancing, Jack and Molly and others.

Visit the Emerald Isle for a day and learn to play the Irish bodhrán drum, dance a Riverdance style jig, savour Irish tales and food as well as family craft activities and face painting – with fun to be had for sure!

Activities on the day include:

  • Treasure Ireland performance - an interactive show full of music, theatre and adventure with Jack and Molly
  • Irish step dancing performances by children from the Christine Ayres School of Irish Dancing
  • Traditional Irish step dancing with Marie Brouder and Irish bodhrán drumming workshops with Vince Brophy from the Lake School of Celtic Music Song & Dance
  • Irish tales and folklore with award-winning storyteller Oisín McKenna
  • Our resident furry friend, Immi the Owl, prowling around the Museum
  • Family craft activities - Claddagh crowns, illuminated bookmarks and 3D family trees
  • Limerick competition
  • Face painting
  • Food and drink

You can also visit Leaving Dublin and become part of the exhibition. Bring along a photo of someone in your family leaving home and it may be included in the exhibition. See our website for details: "Leaving Home: What's your leaving story?"
