Artist in Residence Program
Past Event: 28 January 2014 to 28 February 2014
Image: Bridget Nicholson
Artist Bridget Nicholson explores personal stories and connections to the natural world.
In late 2013, Bridget was based at Immigration Museum for a project that explores the connection to land and what it means to relocate to a new environment.
As part of the engagement, visitors were asked to have their feet wrapped in clay whilst sharing their stories. Bridget used a number of objects from Museum Victoria's collection as a means to stimulate and focus storytelling.
The clay feet will be presented in the Immigration Museum's Community Gallery as part of the bigger project, Touch This Earth Lightly, an ongoing installation across Australia.
Read more about this project at Touch This Earth Lightly.
Sunday 23 February at 2:30pm
Artist Bridget Nicholson would like to invite you
to visit the installation Dis_placed and participate in an artist’s talk.
