School Holiday Activities

Each year millions of shorebirds migrate from Australia to Siberia – and back again! Discover their journey and contribute your own message to this interactive installation developed by artist Kate Gorringe-Smith. Our summer school holiday activity Par Avian complements the Flyway Print Exchange exhibition, on display in the Community Gallery from December 1 until February 28.

Continue your migration investigation and step into a 17-metre replica ship in our Journeys of a Lifetime exhibition. Experience how migrating to Australia via sea travel has changed over the last two centuries with interactive displays that grant you a detailed insight into the migration journey.

You can even explore your family history or find out more about Victoria’s rich immigrant history in the Discovery Centre and finish off the day with afternoon tea at the cafeteria.

Don't forget to share your experiences on our social media platforms
