Dalal Smiley is the former Commissioner with the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
Dalal's involvement in the multicultural sector dates back to 1978 when she started her career as an interpreter with the Immigration Department. Since then she has served as Commissioner with the Victorian Multicultural Commission between 2001 and 2005, established the Victorian Arabic Social Services, worked in community radio, emergency services and community health.
Dalal is a recipient of the Emergency Services Foundation scholarship in 2010 which she used to research the UK’s work on diversity in police, ambulance and fire services.
