The Wonders of Ancient Mesopotamia will give parents and their children the chance to discover an ancient world together – here are some of the special offerings for the younger visitors to the exhibition:

 

Family Trail

Did you know that the first writing was called cuneiform, written on clay, and baked in the sun? Do you know what the difference is between a pyramid and a ziggurat? Discover an ancient world of kings and legends, monsters and lions in the exhibition’s FREE Family Trail. Gilgamesh, the legendary hero of Mesopotamia will be your guide. Suited for 5-9 year olds.

Cost: The Family Trail is included in the exhibition entry ticket.

Kids' Audio Guide

Experience the exhibition with a special audio tour for kids. With a narrator to tell the amazing stories of Ancient Mesopotamia, and additional images and video footage, this special tour provides a great way for your family to learn more about the many things that the Mesopotamians did that we still do today. Suited for 7-12 year olds

Cost: The Kids' Audio Guide costs $7.00 per handset.

School Holiday Programs

Family Presentation
During the winter and spring school holidays, introduce the family to the wonders of Mesopotamia with a special twenty minute presentation in the Museum Theatre. Designed to introduce children to this world of invention, the presentation will run three times a day during the school holidays. No bookings required. Spaces are very limited - first in, first seated.

 Times: 11.30am, 1pm, 2pm

Cost: The Family Presentation is FREE with Museum entry. Tickets for The Wonders of Ancient Mesopotamia are extra.

Family Activities

There will also be Mesopotamian themed archaeological activities for the family to enjoy every day of the school holidays.
