This education kit contains resources for Years 5-10 students focusing on local history and the work of museums. The study of museums and history has curriculum links to Humanities (History); The Arts; English; Design, Creativity and Technology; and Information and Communications Technology.
The kit consists of four comprehensive education activities and an online game. These resources were developed to complement the events and exhibits that marked Museum Victoria’s 150th year. This anniversary occurred in 2004, and was entitled Treasures: Museum Victoria celebrates 150 years.
The links below provide access to the Treasures education activities and game. Students visiting Museum Victoria’s exhibitions on an excursion will obviously be able to draw on that experience when doing the activities. However, students who are not able to participate in an excursion will also be able to use these education materials as an additional resource.
