Melbourne Museum excursion packages have been designed to optimise student learning within a specific content area or theme. Each package provides a suggested program for a fun and interactive day at the museum that also meets specific curriculum outcomes.
This package includes the Koori Culture - Our Shared History education program, as well as booked time in the Melbourne Story, Bunjilaka, Milarri and Forest Secrets exhibitions.
The Bunjilaka exhibition space is closed for most of 2012 while a new and exciting exhibition is being developed. However, students can explore Indigenous perspectives within the museum by participating in the Our Shared History program which introduces them to the living culture of Aboriginal Victoria, both past and present. Students will learn about the 38 language groups that are represented in the diverse communities of Victoria. They will hear elders speak and examine objects that reflect the ancient culture of Aboriginal Victoria.
