Learn about the classification, adaptation, survival and impact of insects and spiders, in the Bugs Alive exhibition with live insects, giant models and thousands of pinned specimens from the museum’s entomology collection by following one of the self guided trails.

A variety of resources for learning about insects in the classroom are available on the Bugs website, and via the Field Guide App.

This program links strongly to Victorian Curriculum Biological Science:

Level 7 to 8:

  • There are differences within and between groups of organisms; classification helps organise this diversity

Level 9 to 10:

  • Ecosystems consist of communities of interdependent organisms and abiotic components of the environment; matter and energy flow through these systems

Available Terms 1-4, Monday-Friday.
Session times: 11am, 11.30am, 1pm & 1.30pm.
