Top Designs Talks are designed to support VCE students of Design & Technology, Visual Communication and Food Technology.
They consist of a half-hour talk from VCAA Reviewers or Curriculum Advisors. These presentations address the School-Assessed Task and highlight documentation of the task using examples from exhibited works, folios and design plans.
The hour immediately following each talk is allocated for viewing the Top Designs exhibition, which is presented by the VCAA and Melbourne Museum as part of the Season of Excellence.
Top Designs presents the work of VCE technology, media and design students. All products are accompanied by folios and design plans that document the students’ development of ideas, production stages, client feedback and evaluation of results. The strength of the exhibition is the opportunity to view developmental folios and design plans alongside the finished work – from furniture using wood and metal, garments and fashion items, graphic and product design, games, interactives, film, publishing, photography, food menu plans to mechanical and electronic systems.
