Birrarung is set within Bunjilaka, a living cultural centre made up of several key gallery spaces for Victoria's Indigenous community. It is no accident that the space curves like a river, as Birrarung is the Boonwurrung and Woi wurrung name for Yarra River. Birrarung has a hand-carved zinc wall and leads via double doors to an outdoor area known as Milarri Garden. Birrarung provides the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy both a contemporary indoor venue and outdoor gardens. Your event can be combined with a private viewing of the First Peoples exhibition and a traditional Welcome to Country or Indigenous performance.
