Description

A woman, two girls & a dog, in their backyard. They are in front of their vegetable patch and a 'stink pipe'. This photograph shows the Brown family's back garden in Brunswick, circa 1928. It shows Dorcas (Daisy) Brown's vegetable patch, with pumpkins stacked to the right by a stink pipe. Stink pipes were common outlets for the household sewerage pipe, and vented gases. This must have been a special occasion as no one in the family had a camera.
