Hi, I was just wondering if you are allowed to take bags into the Top Arts exhibition. I am going with my school group next week and was wondering if we are allowed to take them in or not. I know you can put your bags in lockers so you don't have to take them into the museum, but does this apply to school groups?

Hi, I was wondering if it is fine if I came to the top designs exhibition only for a browse? Do you accept individual entries or do I need to be accompanied by my school?
reply
MV Enquiries 15 May, 2014 12:54

Hi Vicky,

Thanks for your enquiry! Top Designs is open to the general public and included in your general admission to the museum so you can come visit in your own time as only education groups need to be booked into the gallery. If you are visiting as a member of the public and you hold a VIT card it may be worth signing up an MVteachers subscription at: https://museumvictoria.com.au/education/mvteachers/

If you hold a VIT card you can subscribe to our MVTeachers program, which will give you free general entry to Melbourne Museum when coming in as a member of the public. I don't have my school ID card yet. Is there another way or form ID we can present for students entering the Top Design for fee?
reply
MVBookings 9 June, 2014 09:23

Hi Laura,

If the students are under the age of 16, no proof of student status is required. If you're coming with your school, we can make a group booking under the schools name and therefore no student cards are required. Otherwise we do require a valid student card to enter the Museum free of charge.

Thanks,
