Australian Invertebrates Conference

Inaugural Australian Invertebrates Conference, jointly hosted by Melbourne Museum and Melbourne Zoo.

The inaugural Australian Invertebrates Conference will be hosted jointly between Melbourne Museum and Melbourne Zoo from 28 June to 1 July 2011. The conference follows on from the success of the 2009 Butterfly Breeders Conference and brings together experts in the art and science of keeping Australian bugs in captivity.

This is a conference for enthusiasts and professionals who love breeding and displaying butterflies, beetles, spiders and all other invertebrates. Speakers from all over Australia will cover topics as diverse as invertebrate husbandry, education, conservation, photography, invertebrate medicine, record keeping and genetics.

The conference includes specialist presentations, two pinning workshops and tours of the behind-the-scenes facilities at the Melbourne Zoo Butterfly House and Melbourne Museum Live Exhibits Unit.
