The exhibition depicts the daily life in Pompeii before the eruption of 79 AD. The themes explored include trade and business, food and dining, private residences, luxury and beauty, medicine, religious beliefs, burial practices, the eruption of Vesuvius, rediscovering Pompeii and archaeological excavation.

The exhibition provides opportunities to link to the curriculums of History, Geography, English, LOTE (Italian), Science, Mathematics, Information and Communication, and Technology and Art.

A comprehensive range of student programs and professional learning programs will be on offer. Student admission and programs begin at $6.

Subscribers to MV teachers will receive updates on Pompeii and associated programs. Eligible Victorian teachers may join online.

Bookings for all Melbourne Museum education programs will open on 1 December 2008 for the 2009 school year.
