Toolayn Koortakay: Squaring Skins for Rugs

A collaborative effort by four Victorian Aboriginal artists.

After seeing two possum skin cloaks in the Melbourne Museum collections the artists have reproduced the cloaks using traditional tecniques.

Toolayn Koortakay demonstrates the artists' commitment to maintaining cultural continuity through contemporary artistic practice.

The exhibition also features illustrations, woven garments and macrame.
