Tiddalik the Thirsty Frog

Dance and sing along with Victoria's legendary Tiddalik the Thirsty Frog in this lively performance.

Explore this Victorian Aboriginal creation story belonging to the Gunai people of Gippsland. The story follows the thirst of a small frog whose greed has him drinking all of the world’s water, leaving all the animals and plants thirsty and withering.

How will the animals force Tiddalik to return the water? A wise old wombat suggests that if they can make the giant, bloated frog laugh he will spill out all of the water. Will the animals make Tiddalik laugh?

Presented by Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre in collaboration with ILBIJERRI Theatre Company.

AUSLAN interpreted performances are available at all three performances on Sunday 22nd and Friday 27th January.

From 26 December fun family frog activities will be in full swing across the museum, highlights include Frogs Alive! and Tiddalik's Fantastic Frog Faces, see the links for details. Kids are Free!

Hello Katia,

The Tiddalik activities are on from the 3rd of January to 31st of January excluding Saturdays and the 26th of January.

I will be coming along to the 11.30am frog show today, i'll have 4 children with with, where do i go to get the best seat for them to see the show, 2 of the children are under 4. cheers Josey

We really enjoyed every minute of the show and it's powerful message about saving water and taking care of our land. I do hope the cast enjoyed their 'frog-biscuits'? We did!
