Victoria has several rail museums that provide static displays of restored locomotives and other railways-related material. There are also tourist steam locomotive services that operate on a regular basis throughout the state.

The Sandridge Railway Trail is a brochure produced by Museum Victoria that guides visitors along the route of Victoria's first railway from Flinders Street Station to Port Melbourne. The brochure outlines the significance of the former Sandridge railway line and identifies past and present heritage sites along the way.
