The kiosk footing & final archaeology

29 June, 2010 10:09 by Megan

As the digger excavated the 6 metre deep hole for the water tank, the archaeologists were keeping watch over the site. To their delight, the remainder of the outline of the kiosk footing was found.

Apart from this, the finds were very similar to those from the archaeological dig—more broken crockery and bottles from night soil fill.

Will the kiosk now be re-constructed?

Hi James,

Although the kiosk footings were uncovered there is still very little evidence of the actual kiosk. Further investigation is currently underway to try to find more evidence for the kiosk reconstruction.
